Machine: Dell Latitude d600, Intel Pentium M 1.6GHz, 988MHz bus, 1GB Ram, Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller, TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI Card, 40GB HD

1… First things first: back up everything you don’t want to lose!
2… Obtain a copy of
JaS 10.4.6.install.dvd.iso or
JaS 10.4.7 AMD. Intel RePack or
OSX86 10.4.5 AMD/INTEL SSE2 SSE3 iso
(all of which may be found on torrent sites)
3… Get a copy of Acronis Disk Director Suite
You are ready to go.
4… Install Acronis OS Selector
5… Use Acronis Disk Director to partition your hard drive (You need at least 6GB for OS X)
The new partition needs to be a PRIMARY partition. You also want to set it ACTIVE. The format used is (ShagOS swap) and it is flagged AF.
6… Boot cpu from disk, follow the installation instructions.
7… When the computer asks which disk to install onto and there is nothing in the main window, click on the disk utilities tab at the top of the screen.
8… Click on Disk Utility. In the left hand panel, you should see the partition you created for Mac OS X.
9… Click on the OS X partition and hit ERASE. Make sure the format setting is MAC OS journaled.
10… Once the Utility completes this task, close the Utility window. Your dive should now appear in the installation window.
11… Install using the CUSTOM option. Select only what you need. You can un-check the PRINTER, FONTS, and AMD boxes.
12… Once you have your boxes checked, click on INSTALL.
13… When the installation is complete, you need to reboot.
14… When you reboot, Acronis OS Selector will give you two options. Boot into WINDOWS.
15… Open up Acronis Disk Director Suite and make sure the partition for OS X is PRIMARY and ACTIVE.
16… Reboot into OS X (which might show up as an unknown operating system - which you can simply rename at your leisure)
You are done!
ATI support for 1280×1024x32 can be had by editing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and adding the following two lines:
You can edit this file using sudo and vi without having to then repair permissions.
A higher resolution of 1400×1050 can be had by changing the line in com.apple.Boot.plist to “1400×1050x32″, deleting all ATI directories in /System/Library/Extensions, and deleting the files Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache in /System/Library. Finally, run
$ sudo kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions/
Built-in LAN works if you follow the directions here.
PROS: Boot time is very fast, operating system is very responsive, super stable.
CONS: Could not get the wireless to work. Graphics are slow, severely affecting the screen saver program
